I had no idea what Sleep Recovery, Trauma Informed Yoga Nidra or mindfulness training was before Jacqueline Toomey. But as a TV reporter in Denver ā€“ a high stress, fast paced, seemingly nonstop job ā€“ I realized right away, the work she was doing with Sleep Recovery could be something I and my fellow news colleagues needed.

Jacqueline thought so too, and she very much committed to helping us learn more. Literally! Jacqueline brought dozens of mats, blankets and eye masks to our TV station and turned a large conference room into an opportunity for tired journalists, producers and photographers to decompress. We were a room of nerves looking back! But with essential oils, hands-on guidance and her genuine personality, Jacqueline made every single one of us feel comfortable and able to detach ā€“ and even had specific suggestions for anxiety and pregnancy. For years in the industry, the ever-changing schedule and high demands made it hard to unwind and sleep well. Jacqueline introduced me to the possibility of taking on the work I love well-rested.

ā€‹I had better quality, restful sleep in the one hour of Sleep Recovery Yoga Nidra Jacqueline guided me through than the entire prior week's sleep combined.ā€‹ Afterwards, I felt GREAT!

Jacqueline,

You have no idea how appreciative I am for you and your TIYN session yesterday! Ever since entering EMS, I have suffered from bad sleep, anxiety, and insomnia. My mind tends to race now in times of quiet. I have tried various means of medication and therapies (even hypnotherapy) but never have I experienced such peace and calmness within my mind & body. I was so relaxed and at peace I even dosed off two or three times during your Trauma Informed Yoga Nidra session :) ! That alone is a miracle! You are a true blessing to this world <3!

Thank you,

Derek S.

Sacramento EMS

Jacqueline,

I thoroughly enjoyed the meditative experience that Jacqueline guided me through. It felt like being given the key to sleep and the agency to know how to use my breath to calm myself down. I highly recommend this training.

I noticed the practices Jacqueline guides me through help me sleep more and I have better cognitive function in general. I have more tools in my toolbox that I can use to relax myself proactively and provide more self-care. I am going to commit to these practices when I am triggered with a PTSD episode. I would rate this practice for the dyad as 10 out of 10. EMDR was a good short term goal this is more of a long-term way to allow yourself positive coping mechanisms.

Jacqueline (of AXS Wellness) provided a restorative yoga & yoga nidra session for our employees. It was a much-needed time for relaxation and peace (especially with the current stressors of the COVID pandemic). Our team was very grateful and restored after the session! We loved it!

There were many excellent new tools and interesting, useful tips and info I learned from the Sleep Recovery Training for Flight Crews. I fell asleep during the yoga nidra meditation, beautifully and gracefully lead ... I now see that I can fall asleep without taking sleeping pills, will certainly use the yoga nidra and flexing/relaxing techniques you used, I fell into a deep sleep. I would certainly recommend your workshop, not only to firefighters as well as Flight Attendant but anyone and everyone who works shift jobs such as nurses and doctors, hospital workers and anyone who struggles with sleep as we age as well as those w/anxiety, in need of additional psychological support, other than therapy.

The Sleep Recovery Practice (Trauma Informed Yoga Nidra) earlier today was an amazing experience. I had so much energy afterwards and still do, I walked 6 miles right after, it was virtually a life changing experience for me. It was the most eye opening when I realized the amount of energy I had afterwards. Iā€™m sold!

Jacqueline is so warm and welcoming! From the moment we stepped into the building she respected my needs and made sure she understood what I wanted to manifest as well as any injuries I had in order to make sure I was comfortable for this experience. It was my first time doing Trauma Informed Yoga Nidra and I found it to be very relaxing; I felt more aware of my self and the world around me. This practice allowed me to release stress, anxieties and be at peace. Thank you very much to Jacqueline and her talent, I look forward to working with her again and continuing this healing process.
